Rich Emerald - And a Splash of Sapphire!

How's about a rich inspiration board, for this rainy Monday?

I do hope it doesn't rain for too much longer, it's beginning to remind me of the 3/4 years of grey skies and rain in the UK, which I used to experience.

I think that, along with the rest of the female population, the Emerald Atonement Dress is just to die for.

It inspired this quirky, vintage inspired Emerald and Sapphire board.

Friday!!?

Is it really Friday again?! Goodness me. And what a week it has been.

Style Me Pretty has not failed me this week in sharing some of the most beautiful weddings. EVER.

I am in love with the colours and the feel of this divine Wedding! I love the location, too. Such a natural feel. Lovely.

The saying "Two Birds, One Stone" sprung to mind when I saw this picture from the lovely Parisian Wedding fashion shoot over at SMP. Cake or Macarons? Cake or Macarons?! How about a cake WITH macarons...... Yes Please!!!

And yet another one here, which is Super laid-back and super beautiful. I'm jealous!

I would love to eat that cake, right now. But I may have to settle for baking something myself.

Glamour guide

There is nothing more glamorous than a hollywood wedding, but we don't need to leave it up to the rich and famous to indulge in high class soirees.

With a few well thought out details, you can evoke glamour for your own celebration. Take your cues from old world sirens like Audrey Hepburn, Ava Gardner, Jean Harlow and gentlemen like Humphrey Bogart and Cary Grant.

Try the following:

-A chandelier as your statement piece (these can be found in second hand and vintage stores).

-Cut glassware (try A grand affair, in Christchurch for tableware and decor).

-Luxurious fabrics in grey's/ silver, black.
-Diamante or pearl jewellery for you and your wedding party.

-Elbow length gloves

-Put your man in a dinner jacket and bow tie! There aren't many occasions that you will see him looking so dapper.

Copper & Apricot

I can't seem to get enough of the colours of Autumn.

I just love this gorgeous Autumnal post from Laura this week, and am with her in that Autumn is my favourite time of the year! I was actually adamant that my Wedding was to be in autumn - I could see an aisle of fallen leaves crunching beneath my feet. But decided that the weather is just far too unpredictable, and spring gives me lots of yummy flowers to choose from!

But here is a nummy colour palette; Copper and Apricot.

Soda pop

I love this colour combo inspired by the 1960's perfume advertisement. Nothing says fun like yellow, and with a touch of peach there is plenty of romance as well.

The idea of creating a signature drink in your wedding colours is fantastic. (see bottom row).I made a pink lemonade for my guests and it went down a treat!
