Three Nice Things.

Three Lovely things for your Sunday......

1.
o h
m y
g o o d n e s s. . . . . .

This Image made me die a little inside, for three reasons;
1. She is  b e a u t i f u l.
2. He is b e a u t i f u l.
3. Together, they are the most beautiful couple I have ever seen.
4. The photography is i n c r e d i b l e.
So I lied. I found four reasons, and could in fact probably find more If I could compose myself.

2.
Martha has done it again!

Super. Duper. Cute.
Generally, I am not a fan of paper flowers. They all look the same. But these are SO nice!
My favourite is {obviously!} the Dahlia. And then the Spray Chrysanthemum. Which is a flower I don't generally like!

3.
Can never get enough

Justin Vernon is Incredible.
I will always love his music. Always.
The new album is SO pretty, and is definitely included in my Wedding!

Hope you have had a wonderful Sunday.
Here's to a fabulous week ahead.

Framed

My husband and I are about to visit our lovely photographer, Jo Grams of Moda Fotografica to see our finished wedding day prints. Exciting!
So, now I need to figure out how to display them!  Im trying to avoid hanging them in a straight line in matching frames, or dotting them around the place. Grouping creates greater impact. Anyway... Here are a few images from around the web that gave me inspiration and some great ideas.

Ivory Dahlia Loves....

Its a slow Saturday, consisting of cleaning and reading vegetarian cookbooks. I am so out of inspiration today. Which is rather disappointing on my day off for writing blog posts. =/
So I thought today I would take it slow on you guys too, overloading you with too much inspiration can make your Wedding planning more confusing. [Or at least that is my excuse for my lack of it!]

Here are some favourite posts from the Wedding world this week;

alice in wonderland engagement photos

A Wonderland Engagement shoot. I was kind of over the whole Alice In Wonderland Bandwagon thing. But this is the cutest Alice inspired shoot yet!

Image #75482
I also want to do a shout out to Kate MacPherson, who has had a Wedding posted on the wonderful Style Me Pretty. Go New Zealand! You can click the photo to see the entire Gallery from the lovely pristine Wedding. I especially love the splash of turquoise!

Songbird Designs has updated their online shops with Yummy hair grips!
I think they would make great little on-the-day gifts for your Bridesmaids, or as part of a bag of thank yous for them! What do you think?

I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend. I'm off to get ready to watch the Rugby!

Real Wedding; Heidi and Clayton Pt 3

Sadly, all good things must come to an end. Like the posts for this fabulous wedding. =[

I love the constant elation on the faces of the Newlyweds.
So adorable, and so loving.

Best of Luck to Heidi and Clayton, from the girls at The Ivory Dahlia!

And thanks again to Jo Wickham Photography! Wonderful Job!

Out of the whole Wedding, If I was to choose a favorite photograph, it would have to be the couple on the old sofa! Adorble!

Real Wedding; Heidi and Clayton Pt 2

Yum yum yum yum yum yum yummmm! More from Heidi & Clayton's big day!
I love details!!

What was your favorite design detail of the day? I loved the way the tables looked with the striped Text Colortablecloths and teacups - the whole reception looked just how we wanted it - amazing

Where were you married/ where was reception held? The whole day was at Cassels in the Waitakeres, Auckland.

Was there a vendor who did an exceptional job that you would recommend to other brides? eg. caterer, florist, photographer etc? Definitely our photographer Jo who did an amazing job and was so relaxed and easy going on the day. Our flowers were amazing as well which were done by Cartier in Newmarket and the staff at Cassels were also amazing.

Do you have an insiders tip to give to brides to be? Have rescue remedy on hand for the trip to the ceremony (hehe) it definitely helped my nerves. But just have fun - it is such a great day we had an amazing time.

Still more to come! You lucky, lucky readers!!!

{Should I be worried that Brides keep talking about Rescue Remedy, and all the stress involved with Weddings?! *bites nails*}

Real Wedding; Heidi and Clayton Pt 1

Welcome to our first real wedding!!

This beautiful day was Photographed by the ever so talented
Jo Wickham,
who has kindly shared her work with us here at the Ivory Dahlia.Thank you also to the ever so gorgeous Heidi and Clayton for agreeing to have their Wedding showcased on our blog!
Here are a few details about the bride and groom and their wonderful day...

Where did you meet your Husband? We first met at intermediate but we didn't start dating till we were 16.

What was the inspiration for your day and did you have a theme? Well I really like the idea of miss-match and vintage (would take it as far as obsessed) so I tried to show this in our wedding as best I could.

Who planned your wedding? I did!

We love your dress! Who designed it? I pieced together parts of dresses I liked and gave them to an amazing dressmaker Sarah Vincent in Whangarei, who made it and put in her extra expertise and added special features where needed.

Tune in soon for more pics from this fabulous Wedding!

Yums!

Apart from cooking a gazillion mini fritatas, I have spent my last free Sunday catching up on the two weeks of wedding Yums I have missed out on. Here are some of my favourites;

Fabulously Yummo cake via Style Me Pretty

I am also head over heels in love with this Wedding Shoot. I want that bouquet!!!

And this one Paeonies, oh how I love thee!

And this DIVINE image from Kate MacPherson. I love the Idea of having candid photo's of you with your Maid Of Honour and Bridesmaids individually, since they are just as special as your New Hubby.

Sunday Smile

Today's image.... Isn't it cute!? From Haran.

I must apologise again, for my lack of posting. Laura who has been all on her own, blog-wise. {and doing a fantastic job!} Sorry!

I am a little upside down at the moment, starting a new job and have a LOT to take on board. {By brain is so full!} But hopefully this week I will be getting in to a routine once the shop is open, and will be able to blog!

Sunday Smile

I must apologise in advance for any quietness on my part. My parents recently returned from a trip back to the UK, and brought a present home with them - in the form or Flu & Laryngitis. So I am not feeling particularly flash right now, and feel I am going to be tucked in bed for the next few days to recover!

I remember seeing this photo a while back, and remembered "ahh"ing at the love they clearly share.

How sweet are they?!
I love the burst of sunlight. And her accessories are to die for.

I hope you had a better weekend than I did,. Sigh!

Apologies.... and eye candy

Goodness.
We must apologise for the lack of posting.
I don't know what has come over me. Laziness? Lack of inspiration? Probably a bit of both. I haven't even been keeping up to date with reading blogs! For a week!
However, I am here now!
Now I am catching up on my reading, here is a selection of yums for you to feast your eyes on;

Style Me Pretty has a candy-coloured riverside wedding, which is so delectable. I LOVE the shot of the bride dancing in the meadow!

Kate, over at Magnolia Rouge has featured more of Laura & Nick's wedding, which I can't get enough of!
Kate also did a GORGEOUS inspiration board, "Mocha & Ice" which is kind of leaning towards the colours I am thinking of having for my own day. =]

Haran, A friend of my Mister, is a photographer and has recently updated some weddings he has photographed. Check them out here. I love the colours in the Hindu Wedding Ceremony. Yum!

HOW CUTE IS THIS PHOTO!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! So cute I'm turning green with envy.
More of this gorgeous couple over at The Wedding Chicks. Yum yum yum yum. Also check out the DIY & Downloads link on their blog, TOTALLY worth it if you are lacking in inspiration!

I hope these links help!
Musical goodies coming sometime this week!

Things you should check out this week...

Through linking, stumbled upon the beautiful photography of Ben Blood. Kinda wish he was in New Zealand huh?!

Try watching this video and not being inspired by at least a snippet of it. It made me super happy. I love their waistcoats, their mustaches, the bunting, the chair, the stormy sky! I love it!

The gorgeousness of this wedding dress, made more gorgeous by being eco-friendly.

These copyright free images from Papermoon.... SO many DIY possibilities!

Loads of super cute, inspiring felt cut outs from Felt Design here in New Zealand.

Enjoy!

Jessie LeMay, and Rachel Robertson are looking for A honeymooning couple, or an engaged couple to work with, various locations from Feb 23rd - March 2nd.

Floored.

I am in awe right now, [and also a little bit jealous] Of these women; Kate Holland and Fiona Andersen.
They are both SO amazing at what they do.

I have seen many many many photographers' work in New Zealand, but only a few have ever managed to make me this excited. PLUS Fiona's blogging is incredible, witty, imaginative, beautiful. And just to make you love-hate her a little more; Her photography is sublime. I was actually floored by the beauty in her photos. The colours and the feelings are just absolutely incredible.

What excites me even more [if that is even possible before I become a gooey mess of admiration on the floor], is that Fiona and my next awe-fuelling artist have got some secret collaborative work in the pipeline! *shudders with anticipation*
Kate Holland [who has already been featured with us] is also on my 'wish i was as talented as...' list.
Her stationery is magnificent. Absolutely divine. She has custom designed these little darlings for the impending wedding of The Ivory Dahlia's Laura. The detail astounds me. It is so intricate and personal, and I LOVE how all of her designs are so unique, and there isnt even the slightest whiff of pretence. Just sheer talent and an overwhelming desire to create something beautiful, memorable, and perfect.

Ladies, I salute you both and your beautiful gifts.
It is a shame, almost, that I am writing this when The Ivory Dahlia is so new. Nobody will see it! However, given time...
