Three Nice Things.

Three Lovely things for your Sunday......

1.

m y
g o o d n e s s. . . . . .

This Image made me die a little inside, for three reasons;
1. She is  b e a u t i f u l.
2. He is b e a u t i f u l.
3. Together, they are the most beautiful couple I have ever seen.
4. The photography is i n c r e d i b l e.
So I lied. I found four reasons, and could in fact probably find more If I could compose myself.

2.
Martha has done it again!

Super. Duper. Cute.
Generally, I am not a fan of paper flowers. They all look the same. But these are SO nice!
My favourite is {obviously!} the Dahlia. And then the Spray Chrysanthemum. Which is a flower I don't generally like!

Justin Vernon is Incredible.
I will always love his music. Always.
The new album is SO pretty, and is definitely included in my Wedding!

Hope you have had a wonderful Sunday.
Here's to a fabulous week ahead.

Let's Mix-Tape it up.

I. Love. Music.
But when it comes to sitting down and making a decision about entertaining other people with music at the wedding.... I can actually hear the cogs come to a grinding halt!
Much like the sugared almonds, traditional Wedding music has been elbowed out of the picture, in favour of personal favourites, and meaningful songs.
What would you choose?
Below are some of my picks for a wedding day filled with music!

Something to listen to...

Music is great. It's also a very personal thing. Choosing wedding music is a VERY difficult task! I know this as I have recently experienced the challenge of putting together a playlist for my own wedding.
(We had an Ipod playing.)

A few tips

#1 You can't please everyone so you may as well please yourself! ( However, I tried to put a little    something in for those very special to me.)
#2  Try to steer clear of explicit lyrics... for obvious reasons.
#3  Have friends contribute by asking them what they would like to hear at your wedding.
#4  Plan your wedding tunes in sections as in: Ceremony music/ Dinner music/ Speeches music ( pref quiet) /Dancing and or Party music. You can create very different atmospheres for each period of time. In general, the music you play for the dinner will be quite relaxed while after dinner will be more celebratory and upbeat, but again thats all up to you.
#5 Not all your songs have to be love songs. Choose tracks that hold memories for the both of you, for your families and your friends. If its a little dorky, that's ok... its your wedding.
#6 Having a era theme for your wedding eg. 20's, 50's, 60's, Rock'n'roll, Country, makes choosing your music a little easier as you have a direction to go in.
#7 The best way to find songs you like is to listen to lots of music!

Here are a few songs I think are cute, in case you were looking for a little extra inspiration or just something to listen to...

Nina Simone- My baby just cares for me
The Temper Trap- Sweet disposition
Snow patrol- Chocolate
Fleet Foxes- White winter Hymnal
Cathy Davey- Reuben
Vampire weekend- Cape cod Kwassa kwassa
Lykke li- Tonight
Patience and Prudence- Tonight you belong to me
Sarah Blasko- All I want
The Killers- Romeo and Juliet
Lisa Mitchell- Clean white love
Old crow medicine show- Tear it down
Department of Eagles- Teenagers

Music Playlists.

20090321231552

I have to say, I am very glad I have so much time to organise my wedding. One of the hardest parts for me to work out, is the playlists.
We are just hooking up a laptop to Vish's speaker system, and pressing play.
I have got music for the reception, but not much for the actual ceremony, and cant find many up and go songs for the dancing [that I actually LIKE.]

So I thought I would take a selection of songs, which I think would be relevant for different parts of the day.

Here we go;
Ceremony:

Reception

Dancing

Are there any songs you like, which you would add to the playlists?
What music did you / will you have at your wedding?
Would love your feedback!

So Frenchy, So Chic

I am completely in love with this Dossineau photograph of the couple kissing in Paris, and was inspired to create a frenchy themed board.

If that wasn't Frenchy enough for you, take a gander at this GORGEOUS video from La Blogotheque of Phoenix performing live in Paris. Yum!

Did you spot the sneaky Bride and Groom?! Awesome!

Welcome back...

....to another monday.

I trust you had a fabulous weekend?
I spent the majority of mine sourcing goodies for my wedding. Exciting!

However, back to the blog, which has been neglected slightly as of late. I think the both of us are just getting caught up in life. However.

I thought I would give you a selection of inspirational loveliness to get you through the week;

Lets begin with Priscilla Ahn. I love this woman. I love her perfect voice, and just how darn cute she is. Dream is definitely one of my favourites, and gives me chills every time. This would be such a gorgeous song to have at a wedding, don't you think?

I know I am a little slow, since Autumn is here and winter is just around the corner... but I have been going all gaga over picnics.
How about an awesome picnic basket?

Maybe an autumn picnic with a heap of blankets isn't such a bad idea....

Green Wedding Shoes have moved here! But don't worry, it is still as beautiful as always, and full of inspiration!

Have a great week!

We will be back with more very soon!

Things you should check out this week...

Through linking, stumbled upon the beautiful photography of Ben Blood. Kinda wish he was in New Zealand huh?!

Try watching this video and not being inspired by at least a snippet of it. It made me super happy. I love their waistcoats, their mustaches, the bunting, the chair, the stormy sky! I love it!

The gorgeousness of this wedding dress, made more gorgeous by being eco-friendly.

These copyright free images from Papermoon.... SO many DIY possibilities!

Loads of super cute, inspiring felt cut outs from Felt Design here in New Zealand.

Enjoy!
