They Call Me Mellow Yellow.....

Quite rightly....

I have always been amazed at people who have had pretty yellow weddings. Not in a bad way, Just in an "Oh my word, how on earth did you pull off yellow so well" way.
It has always been a colour that scares me, mainly because I know I can never pull it off. Unless I had intended to look jaundice.

I have however put together a board for those of you brave enough to try yellow. How to do Mellow Yellow. Not Jaundice Yellow.

Try mixing a bright yellow with chocolate, olive and mustard for an earthy, fun palette.

Yellow and Charcoal fit well together for a modern Wedding.

How about yellow nail polish with your dress? Its super funky, yet understated if you don't want to go overboard with the yellow.

Soda pop

I love this colour combo inspired by the 1960's perfume advertisement. Nothing says fun like yellow, and with a touch of peach there is plenty of romance as well.

The idea of creating a signature drink in your wedding colours is fantastic. (see bottom row).I made a pink lemonade for my guests and it went down a treat!

Atlas inspiration

Happy Easter weekend!!
My inspiration for this colour board was the lovely old atlas (3rd row). It conjoured up images of all the cool things you could do with old maps, for example, use strips as napkin rings, cut into triangles for bunting (flags), or wrap containers with them and fill with flowers or succulents. Travel also makes a fantastic theme for a wedding. Paper planes, vintage postcards, antique suitcases, old travel books...the decor and favor ideas are endless! Enjoy this board because I sure enjoyed researching it!
